DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Prof. Ophir Frieder - Georgetown University\, Washingt
on\, DCTitle: Computational Intelligence for HealthAbstract: We are just n
ow slowly\, physically recovering from the recent pandemic\; mentally we h
ave a long journey ahead of us\, and many are touting a looming mental hea
 lth crisis.  Thus\, initially\, we describe a web-intelligent\, social-med
ia monitoring approach for depression detection and continue with a presen
tation of a patented\, licensed\, and proprietary intelligent agent that i
dentifies behavioral deviancy\, an early warning for potential mental heal
th concerns.  We then turn our attention towards web-intelligent monitorin
g of social media to detect physical disease outbreaks and describe the im
plications of such surveillance schemes to healthcare planning for a major
children-focused hospital.  We conclude by\, once again\, focusing on pat
ented\, licensed\, and proprietary intelligent agent technology this time
to screen for covid via the use of surrogates.  Other medically oriented m
ining and search applications are briefly mentioned.Bio of the speaker: Op
hir Frieder focuses on scalable information processing systems with partic
ular emphasis on health informatics. He is a Fellow of the AAAS\, ACM\, AI
MBE\, IEEE\, and NAI\, and a Member of the Academia Europaea\, the Europea
n Academy of Sciences and Arts\, and the ACM SIGIR Academy.  Heavily invol
ved with industrial efforts\, he is Chief Scientific Officer of Invaryant\
, Inc and Lead Science and Technology Advisor for Aurora Forge. He is a me
mber of the computer science faculty at Georgetown University and the bios
tatistics\, bioinformatics and biomathematics faculty in the Georgetown Un
 iversity Medical Center.
